POSITION MISSION:
Plan and control the preparation of the CAPEX budget, coordinating with the Projects and OPEX teams to ensure consistency of the annual budget, aligned with corporate budgetary control guidelines, cost reduction initiatives, and organizational objectives.
FUNCTIONS:

Plan and control the preparation of the CAPEX budget, coordinating with the project team on the preliminary project estimation (scope, indirect costs, quantities, contingencies, others) and coordinating with the OPEX team regarding investment planning.

Monitor the results of CAPEX budget execution (actual vs. budgeted), including the comparative evaluation of the CAPEX budget.

Manage the corrective action plan required for CAPEX budget variations, preparing recommendations and reviewing budget adjustments (budget transfers, additional budget, others).

Manage the entire approval process of the CAPEX budget submitted by the project control team and user areas, approving AFEs and recording the approved CAPEX budget amount in the corresponding PEP codes.

Manage activities aimed at reducing the costs of CAPEX projects (plans, initiatives, and projects, follow-up), reviewing and optimizing the budget for CAPEX projects in the annual and semi-annual plan.

Provide support to the Budget Manager in managing cost reduction for CAPEX projects (plans, initiatives, and projects, follow-up), coordinating with the CBM committee in project life cycle management and other required tasks, ensuring alignment between the project area’s work, MCP objectives, and Headquarters’ instructions.

Review and optimize the CAPEX budget based on unit costs for projects internally approved by the project control team and projects presented at vice-presidency meetings, CBM Committee, and CFO/CEO Meetings.

Evaluate the economic performance and benefits of CAPEX projects, including the monitoring of expected results after implementation.

Establish policies, procedures, and manuals related to CAPEX budget approval.
Requisitos

Academic background: Civil Engineering, Mining Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related fields.

Experience:
-
10 years in a similar role.

8 years in the mining sector.

3 years of general professional experience.

Mandatory experience in project control within large-scale mining.

Languages: Advanced English (reading, writing, and speaking).

Technical knowledge:

Preparation and control of CAPEX budgets.

Project estimation, cost control, risk management, and scheduling.

Project evaluation (NPV, IRR, Payback).

Tools: MS Project (intermediate), Primavera (intermediate), Excel (intermediate), SAP FI/PS (intermediate).
